Understanding learning needs

Cognitive and educational assessments can help families better understand learning strengths and areas of difficulty. The findings can inform discussions about appropriate support at home and school.
My background includes special-needs teaching, child mental-health study, and educational psychology training. I draw on my experience with children, parents, and teachers, while placing particular importance on the young person’s voice.
The appropriate assessment depends on the young person’s age, the concerns being explored, and the questions the family hopes to answer. When enquiring, please include their age and the main learning concern so the appropriate options can be discussed.

I offer ADHD assessments for adults seeking a clearer understanding of attention and related difficulties.
Assessment brings together clinical interviews, standardised measures, and observations. An initial consultation considers the concerns and relevant history before an assessment plan is agreed.
The aim is to explore whether ADHD helps explain the difficulties and what support may be appropriate. Findings and recommendations depend on the assessment; a diagnosis is not a predetermined outcome.
The assessment includes a feedback meeting and a written report with findings and recommendations. Appointments and report arrangements depend on the assessment plan.
